With all the amazing cotton prints out there, you could spend all day looking at gorgeous fabric.  Sometimes, though, creating the fabric itself is part of the joy!  Surface embellishment is a technique that combines rich fabrics like silk, velvet, tulle and taffeta with ribbon, yarn, thread and buttons to create a textured, artful surface that can become anything you dream!  Learn the techniques of surface embellishment and give yourself the chance to play with fiber and texture.  Make 2 twelve inch squares in class, then take home instructions for turning them into a sumptuous tote or pillow!  For ages 12 & up.

This workshop assumes that you have basic sewing skills.  Please bring your sewing machine!
