Join Whipstitch for an event you won’t find anywhere else: our Sew-A-Thon!  A dozen contestants sign on to stay UP ALL NIGHT, sewing constantly, to compete for a prize package worth nearly $600: a free booking on our Fall Sewing Retreat in the North Georgia Mountains.  Beginning at 7 pm, Friday September 24, 2010, contestants will rev their sewing machines inside Whipstitch to stitch until the rooster crows–or longer!  Have you got the chops and the stamina to compete?

The fun begins Friday night at 6 pm with a beer and wine reception.  Sewing commences at precisely 7 pm, and continues ALL NIGHT until a single winner emerges!  Stitchers will be eliminated as the night progresses through a series of challenges and lightning rounds (or by simply pooping out and calling it quits!).  Many of the challenges ask you to create sewn projects for charity, like the Million Pillowcase Challenge, so you’ll not just be competing to win, you’ll be donating to a good cause!  Each hour, we’ll also have small prizes to keep you motivated, sponsor giveaways for participants and audience alike, and plenty of laughs and good memories.

Don’t think you’re cut out for sewing all night?  Come down to the shop and watch the fun!  Whipstitch will be open throughout the festivities for sales, giveaways, and snacks.  Nothing like a little midnight fabric madness to light your creative juices.

Registration for the Sew-A-Thon includes a $15 fee to hold your spot and offset incidental costs associated with the charity projects involved, plus a souvenir tee shirt and the certain knowledge that you’ve been part of something epic.   Only twelve eight spots remaining!
