Well done! Lots of luck your way with training the kids on the nothing on the floor rule. It's a good one and you'll work it out. I think you did a marvelous job and it was a good decision to recognize the fact the closets should be painted but to not put it on the to-do list. I didn't do a purge this new year, since I did one 6 months ago when my fiancee and I combined homes. Phew was that nuts! It certainly made us be creative about storage. The space under furniture because a prime option so that we didn't have unsightly piles everywhere, but it's all in bins and not just shoved somewhere, so in theory it makes sense. Good luck with the hall closet and the playroom!

New reader here. :) Way to go! I am so proud of you! It is funny how the end of the year/beginning makes us want to clean and organize. Right after Christmas I cleaned the fridge. Later in the week I worked on our Master closet, then a basic declutter of the house. We really needed it because of all the Holiday stuff, 2 kiddos sick, then a beautiful but damaging snow. We had some cabin fever and needed to get around a move! lol Love your blog, blessings, jb

I did a quick run through our wardrobes too, and now have bags of clothes to donate. So nice to clear off the shelves of clothes that had been grown out of (and will stop my husband dressing the kids in clothes that are too small!). I also found a box of my own clothes that I put away until I finished breastfeeding that I had forgotten about. I have so many more nice tops to wear! Nice to have a clean slate for the new year!

My target for today was (and still is, since it's not quite done) to scrub my bathrooms. I got all of the other to-do things done and that's the last one, so I can be happy for what I did get done even if the bathrooms get pushed off to tomorrow.

I get where you're coming from with getting rid of all the clothes your youngest child has outgrown. I'm currently expecting Child Number Last (nice term - girl 5, no boys) and we have hand-me-downs coming out my ears. I'm actually giddy over the thought of getting rid of all my maternity clothes and the baby stuff as it's outgrown. Stuff OUT of my house that we won't use or need anymore! The minute we're done with it, it's GONE! Halle-freakin-lujah!
